Birmingham Christmas Markets
The Frankfurt Christmas Market opens on 12th November.
The official opening day of the Frankfurt Christmas Market is at 5:30PM on Thursday 12th November. It will then be open every day between 10AM - 9PM until 22nd December.
The German Markets have been on going now for 15 years, and has become an established as a must-visit event for the festive season. If you have not yet been I encourage you to go and experience it.
There will be over 180 stalls with delicious and unique foods and drink, the festivities attract millions of people to the city and more and more experience Birmingham’s largest Christmas attraction each year.
“A record-breaking 5.5M people visited the market in 2014 – 28% increase from two years ago.”
This of course forms an excellent base on just how popular the markets are and how many guests will visit this year’s Christmas markets.
The Craft Market is a pleasant addition to the Frankfurt Market; it is in Chamberlain Square, in front of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and continues through to Centenary Square. (near the Library of Birmingham.)
With these markets coupled together, they generate the most incredible atmosphere of unique shopping festivities and Christmas cheer. It is an experience that really makes Christmas in the West Midlands spectacular. Together with a huge range of other Christmas activities and attractions Birmingham is wonderfully seasonal and perfectly festive.
When is the best time to visit the markets?
The Christmas markets are extremely busy on the weekend, so if you enjoy a busting atmosphere then Saturday and Sunday are the days for you. If you would rather a quieter day out so that your can browse the stalls in peace, we recommend going on a weekday instead.
The Birmingham German Markets can get busy on the weekday at lunch time as the workers will be on their lunch break so for the quietest experience, we suggests going after 2pm. The markets experience a busy spell at 5pm as well, this is of course due to people finishing work and enjoying a treat on their way home.
